James Spencer Cleverly TD VR (born 4 September 1969) is a British politician and Army Reserve officer who has held the position of Foreign Secretary since 2022. In 2022, he served as Secretary of State for Education.
He is a Conservative Party member who has served as the MP for Braintree in Essex since 2015.
From 2019 to 2020, he was Co-Chairman of the Conservative Party with Ben Elliot, and from 2008 to 2016, he was a member of the London Assembly (AM) representing Bexley and Bromley.
